I was born in 65, and the arcades of my childhood were pinball and electro mechanical games like this one. When Space Invaders and Asteroids and Pac Man came out, I lost interest in the old games. But it's remarkable to look at them now and just marvel at the creativity of the original game designers. Wonderful game, wonderful video!

Wow, a Gee-Bee in the flesh. My ~6 year old self retained one of my very earliest memories when I visited a mall arcade. I saw that cabinet standing alone near the front. Even then, it struck me as a little archaic compared to titles like Space Invaders which managed to have graphics with scrutable detail. But Gee-Bee's artwork was so striking. That's certainly the reason I remember it.

Very interesting. I have a sprint 2 PCB that I repaired (ram was bad so game wouldn't run) and have also acquired a full control panel. I don't have much room so I'm planning to make a bartop super sprint with loose pedals that will go on the floor and an old CRT TV sitting on top. I did a similar thing with a missile command PCB and control panel.

I remember finding this machine in my local arcade around 1983 I think. It was the loudest cab in the place. It was so intriguing with the huge sound and the speech which scared me a little as a kid so I preferred watching others playing it. It was too stressful for me back then, but the memory of it always stuck with me. I forgot it's name until this year as a vague memory until someone on You Tube told me once again. This is an awesome reminder. Nice one!

Great video Alex, thanks! I made the mistake of accepting a Track and Field challenge by Neil when I visited and he broke out some bizarre finger tap technique I'd never seen before. In fact I've always wondered what's the maintenance like on these machines that get so much hammering? Do the buttons wear out or break sooner?
